Class 1 (MELT - Mandatory Entry-Level Training) is a powerful driving license.

If you have this license you can drive almost all type of vehicles other than a motorcycle which require class 6 license, Class 1 licence enables you to hunt for the most career options in driving industry, including commercial truck drivers, haulers, delivery and more.

With this License, You can drive :

All the vehicles we mentioned (depending on the type of vehicle) can sometimes referred to as semi-trucks, semi-trailers, 18-wheelers, truck tractors or tractor trailers.

• All single motor vehicle with 3 or more axles
• All motor vehicle with 3 or more axles that is towing a trailer with one or more axles

What all you need to be eligible to get this license ?

We’ll explain it in four simple steps, here you go :

Step 1: Standard Requirements :

• You must be 18 years Old
• You should have class 5 Valid License
• You should have successfully complete the (MELT -mandatory entry-level training ) that includes in-class, in-yard, and in-vehicle modules as per Alberta Govt Rules.

Step 2: Knowledge Test :

• You must pass the Class 1 knowledge test at any AMA Centres.

Step 3: Road test : :

Before you attempt a road test, you need to go through the following first

• You need to complete a vision test at any AMA Centres.
• You need to Complete a medical examination by a doctor and submit a medical form when you go in for your road test
• You need to pass the Air Brake Endorsement and must provide Notice of Air Brake Program Completion
